The arrondissement of Villefranche-sur-Saône is an arrondissement of France in the Rhône department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

[2] Its population is 255,865 (2021), and its area is 1,714.6 km2 (662.0 sq mi).

[5] On 1 January 2015, 101 communes that did not join the newly- created Metropolis of Lyon passed from the arrondissement of Lyon to the arrondissement of Villefranche-sur-Saône.

[4] As a result of the reorganisation of the cantons of France which came into effect in 2015, the borders of the cantons are no longer related to the borders of the arrondissements.
