Arthur McRory[1] (c. 1941–9 August 2023) was an Irish Gaelic football manager.
From Dungannon, he managed the Tyrone county team on and off for nearly twenty five years.
Under him Tyrone enjoyed their first two periods of relative success – the All-Ireland Finals of 1986 and 1995.
He left Tyrone management in 2002, after a disappointing exit in the championship qualifiers to Sligo, ostensibly due to health concerns; however, there is also speculation the parting with the Tyrone County board was acrimonious.
[3] McRory had a keen interest in classical music and attended opera.
