Arthroleptis poecilonotus is widely distributed in the West African forest belt from Guinea-Bissau to Gabon, north-central Central African Republic, the Republic of the Congo, northern Democratic Republic of the Congo and extreme western Uganda, possibly as far as South Sudan.
