Asim Ahmed is a Maldivian politician, and the Permanent Resident Representative to the United Nations Office at Geneva from the Maldives, and was approved for the tenure by the Maldives Parliament, People's Majlis on July 24, 2020.
He received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Politics from University of the South Pacific, Fiji in 1989.
[1][2] He has also received a Doctor of Philosophy from the Victoria University of Wellington in 2011.
[1][2] He was also conferred the National Award for Special Achievement by President Waheed.
[13][14] In 2022, he was elected as one of the four Vice Presidents of the United Nations Human Rights Council for 2023.
