A small Romanesque church was built at the site in the first half of the 12th century.
The current tower and the cross vaulted ceiling of the nave date from the 15th century.
The porch on the north side of the church was constructed in the first half of the 13th century and the chancel was expanded to its current size in around 1500.
The south wall of the side nave features a crucifix from c. 1500.
The elder of them, a model of the naval ship Søe Blomsten, dates from the second half of the 18th century.
