Asunción Paraguay Temple

In 1949 Paraguay was officially opened to Mormon missionaries under the mission headquartered in Uruguay.

On April 2, 2000 an announcement was made that the LDS Church was planning to build a temple in Paraguay.

On February 3, 2001 the site for the Asunción Paraguay Temple was dedicated and a groundbreaking ceremony was held.

On April 10, 2017 the LDS Church announced that the temple would close in November 2017 for renovations that were anticipated to be completed in 2019.

[5] In 2020, the Asunción Paraguay Temple was closed temporarily during the year in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
