On November 16, 2012 the Kansas City Royals announced they had signed Severino to a minor-league contract for the 2013 season.

On April 1, 2016, Severino signed with the Sultanes de Monterrey of the Mexican Baseball League.

On December 7, 2017, Severino signed with the Diablos Rojos del México of the Mexican Baseball League.

On June 17, 2018, Severino was traded to the Tigres de Quintana Roo of the Mexican Baseball League.
