Athens, Wisconsin

Athens is a village in Marathon County, Wisconsin, United States.

[6] It is part of the Wausau, Wisconsin Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The Athens area is primarily agricultural with a small industrial park on the south side of the village limits.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.46 square miles (6.37 km2), all of it land.

There were 503 housing units at an average density of 204.5 per square mile (79.0/km2).

30.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
