In May 1965, the Detroit Red Wings traded Erickson, Larry Jeffrey, Marcel Pronovost, Ed Joyal, and Lowell MacDonald to the Toronto Maple Leafs for Andy Bathgate, Billy Harris, and Gary Jarrett.
