Caribena laeta

Caribena laeta is a species of spider in the family Theraphosidae, found in the US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Cuba,[1] the last dubiously according to Caroline Fukushima and Rogério Bertani in 2017.

[2] It was first described by Carl Ludwig Koch in 1842 under the name Mygale laeta.

[3] Male's carapace are a light brown, looking almost a pale gold, the opisthosoma is a pale brown color, with a darker urticating patch near the spinnerets.

The legs are a light brown, with some darker brown closer to the bottom, with some metallic blue or green near the bottom tip of the legs, which can be seen quite well when in a threat pose.

[4] It is an arboreal tarantula, which webs quite a lot, they are also quite docile but are very skittish.
