[1][2] After successfully presenting ten different Broadway shows in Mexico, OCESA decided to produce their first original musical.
Another idea was to use Bolero songs from the early 20th century, which are still very popular in Mexico, but again this idea was not good to bring to young audiences, so Federico Gonzalez Compeán decided to work with Consuelo Garrido, Lorena Maza and Victor Weinstock to create a musical with two stories, one of two lovers in the 21st century and one with a young couple in the early 1920s.
In 2005 a pianist named Hugo falls in love with Elena, the granddaughter of his neighbor Caridad.
We go back in time to Cuba, when Caridad leaves with her father for Yucatán, where she meets Felipe, a young musician.
They fall madly in love and decide to run away together, but Caridad's father stops her and they go back to Cuba.
