Büron

Büron is a municipality in the district of Sursee in the canton of Lucerne in Switzerland.

Of the rest of the land, 15.6% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (0.9%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains).

Of the agricultural land, 61.04% is used for farming or pastures, while 5.94% is used for orchards or vine crops.

Of the settled areas, 7.79% is covered with buildings, 2.23% is industrial, 0.56% is classed as special developments, 0.56% is parks or greenbelts and 4.45% is transportation infrastructure.

[5] The municipality is located on the eastern foot of the Sursee valley.

Most of the population (as of 2000[update]) speaks German (85.0%), with Albanian being second most common ( 4.3%) and Serbo-Croatian being third ( 3.4%).

In the 2000 census[update] the religious membership of Büron was found to be as follows: 1,396 (73.7%) were Roman Catholic, and 173 (9.1%) were Protestant, with an additional 49 (2.59%) that were of some other Christian faith.
