Bachirou Salou

Bachirou Salou (born 15 September 1970 in Lomé) is a former professional footballer who played as a centre-forward in the Bundesliga.

Born in Lomé, Salou was spotted at the age of 19 by former Czechoslovakian international Anton Ondruš, who was on holiday in Cameroon and saw the player appear for Panthère Sportive .

In his time at Mönchengladbach, Salou helped the team win the 1995 DFB- Pokal, scoring 14 goals in 97 competitive games.

The legendary DFB Cup final in 1997–98 season against FC Bayern München made Salou become a living legend in Duisburg.

Salou gained 38 caps for Togo during a nine-year span, making his international debut at age 19.
