The incumbent Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar belongs to Bakhtiyarpur.
He was the military general of Qutb ud-Din Aibak, and founded Bakhtiyar city after his conquest of Bengal in 1203, destruction of Nalanda and Vikramshila University.
