Balowlan (Persian: بالولان, also Romanized as Bālowlān;[1] Syriac: Bālūlan)[2][a] is a village in Targavar Rural District, Silvaneh District, Urmia County, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran.
[2] The Christians of Bālūlan helped Assyrian and Armenian refugees who had fled the Hamidian massacres.
[5] It was reported in 1910 that the village had been seized by Kurds and the village's Christian population had taken refuge at Urmia.
[3] On 1 October 1914, Turco-Kurdish troops set fire to the village amidst the Sayfo and the inhabitants fled to Urmia.
