It is located in the mukim (sub-district) of Cheras, daerah (district) of Hulu Langat and state of Selangor.
The township is under the administration of local government Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj).
Kajang is represented by Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) David Cheong Kian Young of PKR and PH while Bangi is by Member of Parliament (MP) Syahredzan Johan of the Democratic Action Party (DAP) and PH.
Another access is from the Kajang Dispersal Link Expressway exit via Bandar Sungai Long.
In the township itself, there are two main dual carriageway roads, Persiaran Mahkota Cheras 1 and 2 running through BMC.
