Bann Rowing Club

It is situated on the east bank of the Lower Bann river in Hanover Place south of the Coleraine Bridge.

Founded in 1842, Bann is one of the oldest rowing clubs in all of Ireland.

[1] The Club competes regularly in national regattas across Ireland including the annual National Championships, Cork.

On 7 July 1864 the boathouse and nine boats were destroyed by fire causing £300 worth of damage (a considerable sum at the time).

[2] Bann has had success at producing Olympic oarsmen; Alan Campbell won a bronze medal in the men's single scull at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
