He later held office as Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain.
Both Lady Stratheden and Lord Campbell were succeeded by their eldest son, the second Baron.
As of 2017[update] the titles are held by the latter's grandson, the seventh Baron, who succeeded in 2011.
