Basil Dickinson

John Basil Charles Dickinson (25 April 1915 – 7 October 2013)[2] was an Australian athlete who competed at the 1936 Summer Olympics.

Born in Queanbeyan, Dickinson attended Sydney Boys High School, graduating in 1932.

He finished second behind fellow Australian Jack Metcalfe in the triple jump event at the British 1936 AAA Championships.

[5][6][7] One month later he was selected to represent Australia at the 1936 Olympic Games held in Berlin.

[9][10] After World War II he worked in insurance and remained involved in athletics as an administrator.
