Benešov nad Černou

The centre of Benešov nad Černou is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone.

Benešov nad Černou consists of 13 municipal parts (in brackets population according to the 2021 census):[2] Benešov nad Černou is located about 24 kilometres (15 mi) east of Český Krumlov and 28 km (17 mi) south of České Budějovice.

After World War II, the German population was expelled and the town depopulated.

In 1946, the name changed to Benešov nad Černou after the local watercourse Černá.
