[2][3] The album was produced by band leader Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick.
[4] Leo Stanley of AllMusic, in a 3 out of 5 stars review, claimed "Beneath the Surface finds original lead singer Maysa Leak returning to the Incognito fold.
