Beranuy

Beranuy, in Catalan and Aragonese: Beranui (locally [beɾaˈnuj]) [2] is a municipality located in the Ribagorza (comarca) comarca, province of Huesca, Aragon, Spain.

According to the 2010 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 104 inhabitants.

The paronym Veracruz (Spanish: [beɾaˈkɾuθ]) is a Hispanicization too of the traditional name Beranui, that disregarded the natural linguistic correspondence.

[5] The 9th - 11th century monastery of Santa María de Obarra is located within the municipal term at the foot of the Mountains of Sis.
