Born in Germany, he is a youth international for Turkey.
Yılmaz is a youth product of DJK Singen, FC Schaffhausen and FC Radolfzell, before moving to the youth academy of SC Freiburg in 2020.
In July 2021, he signed a professional contract with Freiburg until 2025.
