Berumbur

Berumbur is a municipality in the district of Aurich, in Lower Saxony, Germany.

In 2022, the municipality had approximately 2,700 inhabitants and covers an area of 6.42 square kilometers.

The municipality includes the districts (Ortsteile) Kleinheide and Holzdorf.

In the name of this settlement, the Proto-Germanic root *būr- appears twice: in the defining word as an umlauted Old Frisian form bēre, in the base word as Middle Low German būr.
