[5] Doglio earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and telecommunication from Indiana University in 1987.

[6] During the 1988 Democratic Party presidential primaries, Doglio was a state director for Senator Paul Simon's campaign.

After moving to Washington, she was an employee at Seattle Public Utilities and Telcordia Technologies.

[7] Doglio is a progressive, and has advocated Medicare for All, immigration reform, Green New Deal legislation, and the expansion of public housing in the Puget Sound region.

[11] She faced former state representative Kristine Reeves and former Tacoma mayor Marilyn Strickland, among others, in the nonpartisan blanket primary.
