The school was included as a contributing property in the Fort Street Historic District on November 12, 1982.
The district received a grant from the Works Progress Administration allowing construction of Boise's first junior high.
[6] Voters rejected a bond measure in 1910 that would have provided $40,000 for the purchase of Lemp Triangle and would have designated the property as a city park.
[7] Then in 1913, after a decision by the Idaho Supreme Court declaring the Lemp deeds unlawful, Boise City regained control of the property and designated it as a park.
[10] Boise Junior High School construction would be delayed for over ten years, however, and excavation at Lemp Triangle finally began early in March, 1936.
