[1] The Bole District covers an area of 4800 km2 land mass and has a population of about 87,656.
[2] Bole was founded as a trading center by Soninke Wangara immigrants, the same group that were the progenitors of the Dyula of Begho, Bouna, Bondoukou and Kong.
