Bonab County (Persian: شهرستان بناب) is in East Azerbaijan province, Iran.
The name of the county, like most other towns in East Azerbaijan, is of Azeri Turkish origin, means "1000 houses".
[citation needed] In August 2017, the village of Khusheh Mehr was elevated to the status of a city.
