Bradfield St Clare

Bradfield St. Clare is a village and civil parish in the West Suffolk district of Suffolk, England, about six miles south of Bury St Edmunds.

According to Eilert Ekwall, the meaning of the village's name is "the wide field".

The village includes the historic Anglican Church of St Clare, Bradfield, the original structure of which dates back to the 12th century.

[2] It has been speculated that the field of Hellesden, which may be a corruption of Hagelisdon, within the parish, was the site of the martyrdom of St Edmund.
