Brian Adams (racewalker)

Brian Adams (born 13 March 1949) is a British retired racewalker from Leicester who worked as a coach in Sheffield.

[1] Adams won his first RWA Young Athletes Road Walk Championship in the Junior Men's category in 1969.

[2] While he is best known for 20 kilometres, achieving his personal best of 1:27:46 in 1975,[3] he won the 1984 Leicester RWA 100 miles in 17:39:28, beating long-distance specialists such as John Cannell from the Isle of Man.

[8] He represented England in the 30 kilometres walk event at the 1978 Commonwealth Games in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, where he placed 4th with a time of 2:29:42.

[12] Adams now lives in Sheffield, where he is a trustee of a local Methodist Church[13] and of the South Yorkshire Schools' Athletic Association,[14] where he also serves as the Race Walking Secretary.
