Briarton is an unincorporated community in Shawano County, Wisconsin, United States, in the Town of Lessor, west of Green Bay.
[1][2] Briarton had post office, established April 18, 1883, and discontinued on May 31, 1904.
[3] A 1921 gazetteer indicates that businesses in the community on that date included two general stores, a saw mill, a store for agricultural implements, and one for soft drinks.
Rural mail delivery was being done from nearby Leeman, and the closest bank was in Galesburg (now the community of Navarino).
In approximately 1985–1986, County Trunk Highway W through Briarton was taken over by the State of Wisconsin and made part of Wisconsin Highway 156.
