The racial makeup of the township was 70.81% White, 18.23% African American, 0.14% Native American, 0.74% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 5.29% from other races, and 4.79% from two or more races.

37.20% of all households were made up of individuals, and 22.10% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
