Buck Cheves

James Parks "Buck" Cheves[a] (November 28, 1898 – April 12, 1995) was an American college football player and referee.

The team compiled an 8–0–1 record and won a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAA) title.

[8] He returned a kick blocked by Puss Whelchel for 87 yards, scoring a touchdown to defeat Alabama during the 1920 season.
