Buffalo Springs is an unincorporated community in Clay County, Texas, United States.
In 1864, 25 people built an outpost and attempted to create a farming community, marking the beginning of settlement in the area.
In that year, the post office opened in the ensuing settlement, which was named for Buffalo Creek located nearby.
[2] Buffalo Springs is located at the intersection of Farm to Market Roads 3077 and 174, 15 mi (24 km) south of Henrietta and 27 mi (43 km) north of Jacksboro in south-central Clay County.
