Desmosanthes is a section of the genus Bulbophyllum.

[1] Species in this section have pseudobulbs with 2 to more flowered inflorescence and a very short rachis.

Plants from this section are found from India, China, Taiwan, eastward to the Philippines, Sulawesi and the Lesser Sunda Islands.
