Byram, North Yorkshire

Byram is a village in the Selby District in North Yorkshire, England.

It lies 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Castleford, across the River Aire in West Yorkshire.

The toponym is from the Old English bȳrum, the dative plural of bȳre, so means "at the byres or cowsheds".

[4] The house was demolished in the 1950s, but a number of buildings remain in the park.

The 18th century lodge is a Grade II listed building.
