Cărpinet

Cărpinet (Hungarian: Kerpenyéd) is a commune in Bihor County, Crișana, Romania with a population of 1,607 people as of 2021.

It is composed of four villages: Călugări (Kalugyer), Cărpinet, Izbuc (Vaskohszohodol), and Leheceni (Lehecsény).

The commune is situated at an altitude of 316 m (1,037 ft), in the western foothills of the Bihor Mountains.

It lies on the banks of the river Untu [ro], a tributary of Crișul Negru.

Cărpinet is crossed by national road DN76 [ro] (part of European route E79), which runs from the county seat, Oradea, 89 km (55 mi) to the northwest, to Deva, 96 km (60 mi) to the southeast.
