It is located on the northwestern bank of the Allegheny River, 37 miles (60 km) northeast of downtown Pittsburgh and 3 miles (5 km) southwest of Ford City.

There were 175 households, out of which 21.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.3% were married couples living together, 10.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.6% were non-families.

33.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 26.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
