The Village of Candor is centrally located in the town and is south of Ithaca.

The John W. McCarty House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

As of the census[5] of 2000, there were 855 people, 346 households, and 223 families residing in the village.

There were 373 housing units at an average density of 842.8 per square mile (325.4/km2).

30.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 13.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
