The alpine cool-skink (Carinascincus greeni),[2] also known commonly as the northern snow skink, is a species of lizard in the family Scincidae.
The species is endemic to Tasmania in Australia.
The specific name, greeni, is in honor of Tasmanian ornithologist Robert "Bob" Green.
[3] The preferred natural habitats of C. greeni are rocky areas and freshwater wetlands, at altitudes higher than 1,000 m (3,300 ft), above the tree line.
