Isabella Caroline McMillen (born 23 September 1954)[1] is an Australian medical and health academic and was Chief Scientist of South Australia from October 2018[2] to August 2023.
McMillen was also a Member of the Expert Advisory Group for Science in Australia Gender Equity (SAGE).
McMillen was Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice President of Research and Innovation at the University of South Australia from 2005 to 2011.
[8] In November 2017, McMillen announced her intention to retire as vice-chancellor, just one year into her four-year contract renewal.
[10] Following her retirement from academia, McMillen became the fifth Chief Scientist of South Australia on 18 October 2018.
