Carrie L. Ruud (/ruːd/ ROOD; born February 22, 1952) is a Minnesota politician and member of the Minnesota Senate from 2003-2007, and again from 2013-2022.
[1] Ruud was first elected to the Minnesota Senate in 2003.
She was defeated by Mary Olson in the 2006 election.
While in office, Ruud served as committee chair of Environment and Natural Resources Policy and Legacy Finance (2017-22).
They have five children and reside in Breezy Point, Minnesota, where Ruud served as mayor from 2001 to 2002.
