Cecil Township is served by the Canon-McMillan School District.

The Stephenson-Campbell House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

As of the census[5] of 2000, there were 9,756 people, 3,794 households, and 2,879 families residing in the township.

20.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
