Cell (journal)

Cell is a peer-reviewed scientific journal publishing research papers across a broad range of disciplines within the life sciences.

The journal was established in 1974 by Benjamin Lewin[2] and is published twice monthly by Cell Press, owned by Elsevier.

Benjamin Lewin founded Cell in January 1974, under the aegis of MIT Press.

[3] The "Article of the Future" feature was the recipient of a 2011 PROSE Award for Excellence in Biological & Life Sciences presented by the Professional and Scholarly Publishing Division of the Association of American Publishers.

[6] In addition to original research articles, 'another section publishes previews, reviews, analytical articles, commentaries, essays, correspondence, current nomenclature lists, glossaries, and schematic diagrams of cellular processes.
