The entire terminus is spread over an area of 12 acres (49,000 m2) and has enough parking bays to accommodate around 200 buses simultaneously.

[4] Buses ply from here to all major towns in Tamil Nadu and other important places in Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry.

[6] The bus station is modernized with concrete flooring, high mast lamps and the introduction of various extension counters, e-governance facilities and bank ATMs.

[7] An air conditioned passenger waiting hall, a reverse osmosis water treatment plant and a separate station for mini-buses are in operation.

[11] While there are two other small terminals in the city limits at Surampatti and 46-Pudur which are established to cater intra-city bus services.
