This electoral term of the Central Committee was elected by the 8th Congress of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia in 1964, and was in session until the convocation of the 9th Congress in 1969.

That congress opted to abolish the Central Committee and replace it with the Conference of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia, which existed until 1974 when the 10th Congress re-established the Central Committee.
