Chaharbagh (Persian: چهارباغ)[a] is a city in the Central District[b] of Chaharbagh County, Alborz province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county[5] and the district.
[3] It was the administrative center for Chahardangeh Rural District[6] until its capital was transferred to the village of Sonqorabad.
[5] At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 5,577 in 1,448 households,[7] when it was in Savojbolagh County of Tehran province.
The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 48,828 inhabitants in 14,380 households,[2] by which time the county had been separated from the province in the establishment of Alborz province.
