The president appoints Councilpersons to serve on the board for three year terms, as Secretary, and councilors of Public Works; Ecology; and street lighting.

It is responsible for budgeting and expenditures and producing all required reports for all branches of the municipal administration.

They are tasked with enforcing regulations, distributing materials and administering rulings of general compliance issued by the council.

[4] In addition, the municipal agencies ensure the preservation of public order, and apprehend and prosecute criminals as required by authority.

[4] The municipality is made up of 5 communities: Every year from the 28 November to 8 December a fiesta is celebrated in honor of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception.
