Charles Symes Leslie Alford[1] (7 February 1885 – 16 May 1963) was Archdeacon of Bristol from 1938[2] to 1941.
[3] Alford was born in Bristol and educated at Marlborough College and Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, during which time he was a member of its OTC.
[6] After a curacy in Barnard Castle he was with the Royal Army Chaplains' Department[7] from 1910 to 1927.
