Charles Henry Beeson (October 2, 1870[1]–1949) was an American classical scholar.
In addition, he was an active researcher and reviewer, especially for the journal Classical Philology.
In 1935, he was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
[5] While at Indiana University he assisted Carl H. Eigenmann in studies of the fishes of Indiana, and elsewhere, and was the coauthor of a few ichthyological papers, including the Fishes of Indiana,[6] Preliminary note on the relationship of the species usually united under the generic name Sebastodes [7] and Pteropodus dallii sp.
nov.[8] During World War I, he worked in the Military Intelligence Division (MID) Cryptography Department (MI-8).
